Paytm targeting five lakh customer base in Kerala

Kochi: Paytm plans to invest Rs500 crore in 2018 to conduct merchant training and awareness creation about the digital payment platform. Paytm regional head Tom Jacob said the company has a customer base of 300 million and it is growing rapidly with the introduction of QR code system. According to Jacob, the company has also one lakh merchant base in Kerala at present. ``We are targeting to increase bases in the State to five lakh,’’ he added. On Paytm imposing fee for transactions, he said at the moment the company is focusing on building the customer base rather than generating revenue.
