NEW DELHI: Infosys reported a 12.2 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to Rs7,769 crore for the quarter ended June 2026, while lowering the upper end of its full-year revenue growth guidance, citing continued macroeconomic uncertainty.
India's second-largest IT services company posted a 14 per cent increase in revenue to Rs48,211 crore during the first quarter of FY27.
The company also announced that Infosys veteran Ashiss Kumar Dash will take over as Chief Executive Officer from April 1, 2027, following the completion of Salil Parekh's second term. Parekh will complete a nine-year stint, making him the longest-serving non-founder CEO of the company.
In dollar terms, Infosys reported first-quarter revenue of $5.08 billion, reflecting a 2.4 per cent year-on-year growth and a 1 per cent sequential increase in constant currency terms.
"We had a one-time revenue impact from a client decision during the quarter," Parekh said.
Artificial intelligence (AI)-related services contributed 8.2 per cent of the company's first-quarter revenue, underlining the growing role of AI in its business.
AI role
Infosys said more than 80,000 employees are using AI-assisted coding tools for client engagements and that demand remains strong across six AI-led growth areas.
The company is expanding its AI capabilities in areas such as process agents, data modernisation and coding solutions, and plans to build a team of 6,000 frontier engineers over the next few years.
Infosys revised its FY27 revenue growth guidance to 1.5-3 per cent in constant currency terms, compared with its earlier projection of 1.5-3.5 per cent.
"Overall, we continue to see the macro environment remaining uncertain. Based on our Q1 performance and our outlook for the rest of the financial year, we are revising our revenue growth guidance to 1.5 per cent to 3 per cent in constant currency terms," Parekh said.
