NEW DELHI: The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has started accepting applications for authorisations to provide telecommunication services and for migration of existing licences to the new framework under the Telecommunications Act, 2023.
The move follows the June 23, 2026 notification of rules for service authorisation under clause (a) of sub-section (1) of section 3, and for migration of licences under sub-section (6) of section 3. In line with the Act’s “digital by design” mandate, DoT has activated online modules for both fresh authorisations and licence migration.
Applicants can file submissions via the Telecom eServices Portal at https://eservices.dot.gov.in/authorisation-portal.
DoT had temporarily suspended, from November 10, 2025, acceptance of new applications for Unified Licences, Unified Licence (VNO), standalone licences, registrations, permissions and No-Objection Certificates pending the new regime. With the authorisation framework now live, that pause has been lifted.
