CSL fire at ONGC ship caused Rs18.5cr loss

KOCHI: The damage survey conducted by Cochin Shipyard Ltd (CSL) on the explosion that took place on February 13 on the ONGC ship has assessed the expected material loss at Rs18.51 crore. The company has also informed the stock market that the CSL, which has insurance cover for the vessel under Ship Repairer's liability policy for Rs15 crore, has already lodged a claim with the insurance company. The February 13 explosion that took place in the forward area of a drillship owned by ONGC had killed five people and injured seven others at the CSL’s yard. The drillship, Sagar Bhushan, was undergoing maintenance works at the shipyard at the time of the explosion.
