NEW DELHI: The state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) on Tuesday ruled out an increase in tariffs in the near future.
“We can clearly say we are not going to increase our tariffs in the near future,” said Robert Ravi, Chairman and Managing Director of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL).
He told the media that BSNL’s prime interest is to see that its consumers are happy and win their confidence.
“We do not feel the need for a hike in tariffs in the near future,” Ravi added.
Other operators
Major telecom operators in India — Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea — have been making varied tariff changes for the past few years.
Jio welcomed aggressive pricing to capture market share but has taken price increases continuously since 2021, looking to be profitable.
Airtel too has increased tariffs to counter costs going up, in emphasis of sustainable pricing.
