Stock market starts on a bullish pitch

Sensex gained 300 points so far in the day

Mumbai: The stock market opened on a bullish note on April 8 (Monday) instilling new confidence in investors’ minds on the course of the market in the coming days of the week. The BSE benchmark Sensex which is on an upward move has gained 300 points at 74,555, and NSE Nifty 50 has moved up by 65 points to 22,579 so far in the day.

Tata Steel, Titan, Axis Bank, HUL, Infosys, Tech M, Bajaj Finserv, ICIC Bank, SBI, and RIL lead the gain on the Sensex, while Nestle India, Wipro, HCL Tech, and Bharti Airtel are among the top five losers.

Grasim Industries, Ultratech Cement, Bajaj Auto, and Bharti Airtel are among the top five losers on the NSE Fifty 50.

Nifty Realty, Nifty Consumer Durables, Nifty Metal, and Nifty Oil and Gas lead sectoral gains rising between 0.65 per cent and 0.57 per cent.

The broader market opened strong yet again with the BSE MidCap gaining 0.38 per cent and SmallCap indices trading 0.57 per cent higher.
