Nifty at record high in early trade, Sensex too bullish

Nifty gained 63.35 points to scale a record high of 24,650.05 points

MUMBAI; Indices continued their winning streak for the third consecutive day on Tuesday. NSE’s benchmark index Nifty scaled a record peak, while BSE Sensex crossed 80,850 points driven by a heavy inflow of foreign funds into the Indian stock market and a rally in the US markets.

The 30-share BSE Sensex surged by 185.55 points to reach 80,850, awhil3 the Nifty gained 63.35 points to scale a record high of 24,650.05 points.

Among the Sensex shares, the biggest gainers included Mahindra & Mahindra, Bharti Airtel, Hindustan Unilever, Tata Steel, Adani Ports, Infosys, and ICICI Bank, contributing between 0.5% to 2% to the indices.

Both SmallCap and MidCap shares rose by over 0.56 per cent compared to their previous close. Nifty Realty emerged as the top gainer among the key sectorial indices, climbing by 1.3%, while Nifty Bank was the worst performer, declining by 0.26%.
