Mcap of 8 top-valued firms climbs Rs88,085.8cr

The BSE benchmark, Sensex, advanced 509.41 points or 0.66% during the week

MUMBAI: The combined market valuation or the Mcap of eight of the top-10 most-valued firms surged Rs88,085.89 crore last week, with HDFC Bank leading the gainers, in line with an optimistic trend in equities.

The BSE benchmark advanced 509.41 points or 0.66 per cent during the week.

From the top-10 pack, HDFC Bank, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India (SBI), Bajaj Finance, Hindustan Unilever, and ITC registered gains in thier Mcap, while Reliance Industries and Infosys saw their market valuation erode.

HDFC Bank added Rs44,933.62 crore, taking its valuation to Rs13,99,208.73 crore. State Bank of India’s market cap soared Rs16,599.79 crore to Rs6,88,623.68 crore.

TCS saw a Rs9,063.31 crore jump in valuation to Rs13,04,121.56 crore, while ICICI Bank added Rs5,140.15 crore, taking its market cap to Rs9,52,768.61 crore.

The market valuation of ITC rose Rs5,032.59 crore to Rs5,12,828.63 crore, while Hindustan Unilever climbed Rs2,796.01 crore to Rs5,30,854.90 crore.

Bharti Airtel’s market valuation advanced Rs2,651.48 crore to Rs9,87,005.92 crore, and Bajaj Finance gained Rs1,868.94 crore to reach Rs5,54,715.12 crore.

However, Infosys saw its valuation dip Rs9,135.89 crore to Rs6,52,228.49 crore, while Reliance Industries shed Rs1,962.2 crore, bringing its market cap to Rs17,25,377.54 crore.

In the top-10 ranking in Mcap, Reliance Industries retained the top spot, followed by HDFC Bank, TCS, Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Infosys, Bajaj Finance, Hindustan Unilever, and ITC.
