FY25 starts on a green note, all indices up

Sensex gains 400 points

Mumbai: The Equity Market opened on a green note on April 1 (Monday), the first trading day of the financial year 2024-25 and the week. Sensex opened up 400 points, while Nifty at 22, 480.

All the sectorial indices were in green, with heavyweight indices like Bank, Financial Services and Consumer Durables leading the gains.

The broader market too is gaining, with the BSE MidCap index having jumped 1.27 per cent and BSE SmallCap index up 1.74 per cent.

Hindalco, Bajaj Finserv, JSW Steel, HDFC Bank and Apollo Hospitals are the top gainers on the Nifty 50, while Bharti Airtel is the only loser on the benchmark index
