ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) has formalised a significant collaboration with ADIB Securities, a prominent Sharia-compliant brokerage firm to establish a new digital onboarding platform designed to enhance the investor experience substantially.

By leveraging modern technologies, the initiative seeks to create a more user-friendly and efficient process that aligns with the evolving needs of both individual and institutional investors.

At the heart of this new platform is the integration of essential services, including the obtaining of a National Investor Number (NIN) and the accessibility of trading account APIs, directly within the ADIB Securities mobile app and digital infrastructure.

The innovative approach eliminates traditional barriers such as the need to print, sign, and email documents, thus streamlining the onboarding process for new investors.

Given the uptick in individual investors—an increase of 7 per cent over the past year, culminating in a total of 1.1 million investors by September 2024—this initiative is timely and reflects the growing interest in the capital markets of Abu Dhabi.

Abdulla Salem Alnuaimi, the Group Chief Executive Officer of ADX, emphasised that as an open exchange, ADX is committed to collaborating with its brokerage community to empower investors through vital tools and financial knowledge.

“The partnership with ADIB Securities is a testament to this commitment, as it not only strengthens the framework for investor engagement but also enhances market accessibility.”

In parallel, Mohamed Abdelbary, Acting Group Chief Executive Officer of ADIB Securities, underscored the shared vision behind the MoU: to ease and enhance business processes for clients. “By focusing on technological innovation, ADIB aims to ensure that investment opportunities are more accessible, allowing individuals to navigate their financial journeys with increased confidence and security.”
