Mumbai: Enterprise automation software company UiPath has expanded its footprint in India by launching two new data centres – Pune and Chennai – as part of its global expansion initiative.
These data centres will host UiPath Services such as Intelligent Document Processing (IDP), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Applications, Core Automation, and more, all accessible to customers as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offerings.
“India is a crucial market for UiPath and houses a robust engineering presence in Bengaluru and Hyderabad. The launch of new data centers underscores our commitment to empowering Indian businesses with cutting-edge automation solutions,” Arun Balasubramanian, Vice President & Managing Director, India & South Asia, UiPath, said.
With the new data centres in Pune and Chennai, UiPath will now have cloud regions in India, the US, Europe, Canada, Japan, Singapore, and Australia.
Big players are entering India as the country is experiencing strong demand due to the rapid growth of digital infrastructure, the need for local storage, and the government’s data localisation norms.
The industry is expected to reach a market size of $4.5 billion by 2025, with an estimated 1.318 GW by 2024 and 1.4 GW by 2025.
According to reports by real estate consultancy CBRE, the Indian data centre industry attracted investment commitments of about $35 billion between 2018 and 2023 and is expected to reach a market size of $45 billion by 2025.
Social networking giant Meta also plans to set up its first data centre in India to meet the growing demand for its short video feature –Reels.
