THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thiruvananthapuram International Airport recorded a 10% year-on-year growth in passenger traffic during FY2024-25, according to Adani Airport Holdings Ltd., which operates the airport.
In a statement on Thursday, the company said the Thiruvananthapuram airport handled 4,890,452 passengers between April 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025, compared with 4,411,235 passengers in the previous financial year.
“This growth highlights Thiruvananthapuram’s rising prominence as a key aviation gateway for travellers from Kerala and Tamil Nadu,” the airport operator said, adding that FY25 also saw significant upgrades in infrastructure and technology that strengthened the airport’s operational capabilities.
The Thiruvananthapuram airport registered its highest-ever daily passenger and aircraft traffic on December 22, 2024, with 16,578 passengers and 101 Air Traffic Movements (ATMs). This broke the previous record of 15,193 passengers and 95 ATMs on January 29, 2024.
On average, the airport currently handles 14,614 passengers and 86 ATMs per day, including charter operations. It is connected to over nine domestic and 14 international destinations.
The number of ATMs grew 6% during the year, driven by targeted infrastructure investments that enhanced the airport’s capacity to manage growing demand, the statement added.
