Kuwait City: The board of Jazeera Airways, Kuwait’s prominent low-cost carrier, has approved a significant investment in its operational capabilities by purchasing six Airbus A320ceo aircraft, which the airline has been leasing.

The total cost of this acquisition is approximately $180.91 million, equivalent to 55.57 million Kuwaiti dinars. The strategic move is indicative of the airline’s commitment to enhancing its fleet and improving operational efficiency.

The financing for this purchase will be derived from a combination of bank loans and the airline’s internal resources, as outlined in a statement released on the Kuwait bourse. This financing strategy reflects prudent financial management, allowing Jazeera Airways to expand its fleet while maintaining a balanced approach to its capital structure.

Currently, Jazeera Airways operates a fleet of 24 Airbus A320 aircraft. The addition of the six purchased aircraft will bolster its operational capacity and further streamline its services. Furthermore, the airline has an impressive order book that includes 26 new aircraft, comprising 18 A320neos and 8 A321neos, with expected deliveries commencing in mid-2026.

The forward-looking strategy positions Jazeera Airways to meet the growing demand for air travel in the region while enhancing its competitive edge in the low-cost carrier market.
