RIYADH: Keeta, the international subsidiary of Meituan—China’s leading on-demand delivery giant—has announced its expansion into Riyadh, signaling a decisive commitment to enhancing food delivery services across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The expansion not only marks Keeta’s entry into a region rich with potential but also aligns with the broader ambitions outlined in Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 initiative.
As the localised branch of Meituan, Keeta benefits from the extensive expertise and operational prowess of one of the world’s largest food delivery platforms. Meituan boasts an impressive capacity, handling 60 million deliveries daily and serving 680 million users globally.
This established background positions Keeta advantageously within the competitive Saudi market, where the demand for efficient food delivery services is rapidly increasing.
To further reinforce its presence in the Kingdom, Keeta has committed to investing 1 billion Saudi riyals into local operations. The substantial investment aims not only to expand its service offerings but also to stimulate economic growth by creating job opportunities for Saudi citizens.
Unique opportunities
Such initiatives resonate with the goals of Vision 2030, which seeks to diversify the economy and reduce dependence on oil revenues.
The Saudi food delivery market is indeed on an upward trajectory, with projections suggesting an increase in users to 19.2 million by 2029. This growth is driven by a young, tech-savvy population increasingly inclined toward digital solutions.
Tony Qiu, CEO of Keeta, emphasised this trend, stating, “Our expansion into Riyadh underlines our commitment to the Saudi market, which presents unique opportunities driven by a young, tech-savvy population and a growing appetite for digital solutions.”
Keeta’s value proposition centers around affordability and customer satisfaction, offering unlimited free delivery options and a diverse selection of restaurants and cuisines. By prioritising reliability and an engaging user experience, the platform aims to redefine the food delivery landscape in Saudi Arabia.
