MUMBAI: Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan, popularly known as Big B, has sold his luxurious duplex apartment in Mumbai’s Oshiwara for a whopping Rs83 crore. Reports indicate that the property transaction was registered in January 2025.
According to property registration documents reviewed by Square Yards on the Inspector General of Registration (IGR) website, the apartment is part of The Atlantis, a premium residential project by Crystal Group. Spread across 1.55 acres, the project offers upscale 4, 5, and 6 BHK apartments.
The premium duplex boasts a built-up area of 529.94 sq. m (~5,704 sq. ft) and a carpet area of 5,185.62 sq. ft (~481.75 sq. m). It also features an expansive terrace spanning 445.93 sq. m (~4,800 sq. ft) and comes with six mechanised car parking spaces.
The sale incurred a stamp duty payment of Rs4.98 crore and registration charges of Rs30,000.
Bachchan originally purchased the apartment for Rs31 crore in April 2021, reflecting an impressive 168 per cent increase in value upon its sale.
The same property had been leased to actor Kriti Sanon in November 2021 for a monthly rent of Rs10 lakh, with a security deposit of Rs60 lakh, according to IGR lease documents reviewed by Square Yards.
On the cinematic front, Big B was last seen in the sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin and co-starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan. The film is currently streaming on Netflix.
