Air India Express adds six new daily direct flights

Airline currently operates over 380 daily flights, connecting 32 domestic and 15 international airports

MUMBAI: Air India Express has expanded its operations by introducing six new daily direct flights, including three from Chennai and two from Kolkata, as of Monday.

The low-cost carrier also inaugurated its first direct service on the Guwahatiโ€“Jaipur route. Launched on August 12, the new routes cover Chennai-Bhubaneswar, Chennai-Bagdogra, Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram, Kolkata-Varanasi, Kolkata-Guwahati, and Guwahati-Jaipur, according to a statement from the airline.

Five of these routes are new to the airlineโ€™s expanding network. Notably, the Guwahati-Jaipur flight is now exclusively served by Air India Express.

Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram

In response to growing demand on the Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram route, which was previously served by two weekly flights, Air India Express has added a daily service, bringing the total to nine flights per week.

Air India Express, a subsidiary of Air India and part of the Tata group, currently operates over 380 daily flights, connecting 32 domestic and 15 international airports. The airlineโ€™s fleet consists of 82 aircraft, including 54 Boeing 737s and 28 Airbus A320s.
