NEW DELHI: Â A total of 768 entities settled cases related to alleged non-genuine trades in the stock options segment on the BSE with SEBI, under the settlement scheme introduced in 2024, the markets regulator announced on Monday.
SEBI had earlier introduced the SEBI Settlement Scheme, 2022, allowing entities to resolve their cases through settlement. After the scheme’s closure, the regulator pursued legal action against those who did not participate, some of whom appealed the decisions to the Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT).
During a hearing in September 2023, the Tribunal directed that if a new settlement scheme is introduced in the future, the appellants would be eligible to benefit from it, and their cases would be covered under the scheme.
