DUBAI:Â The UAE Cabinet has decided to consider the income of foreign workers that apply to bring their family members to the country, rather than their profession, official news agency WAM reported.
The government hopes this will improve the family lives and social ties of private sector workers.
Nasser bin Thani Al Hamli, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, highlighted the decision’s positive effects on the labour market, as it will increase productivity, support the national economy, and improve the performance of workers within a comprehensive environment that will integrate the entire community.
Al Hamli stressed that the UAE hosts over 200 nationalities and guarantees their rights, which are safeguarded by national legislation, as it considers everyone to be active partners in the development process, making the UAE the first-choice destination for manpower and experts who see the country as a safe place to work and live.
In a statement regarding the cabinet’s decision, Ali Mohammed Al Shamsi, Chairman of the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, said that the UAE is an ideal global model of residency and employment which attracts individuals who are ambitious and aim to achieve their dreams, in a country whose wise leadership, government and people are open to all cultures, making it an ideal environment for family stability.
He added that the decision will strengthen family stability by enabling foreign workers to legally bring their families to the country based on security, economic and social laws, which will achieve their happiness and the happiness of their families. He also praised the efforts of the UAE’s leadership to offer the best services to the country’s residents, as they are partners in its development and advancement.
