Thiruvananthapuram: Jetstar Asia Airways, the low- cost subsidiary of Australia’s Quanta Airline, is showing interest in Thiruvananthapuram- Australia sector.
The representatives of Singapore-based airline presented their ambitious proposal to start operation in the sector via Singapore at the stakeholders’ meeting of Thiruvananthapuram international airport.
Airport director George G Tharakan said that representatives of chamber of commerce and travel and tourism industries, who attended the meeting organized by the Airport Authority of India (AAI), welcomed the proposal. They are of the view that it would give a big push to tourism industry in the state.
AAI marketing head Tariq Hussain inaugurated the event that was attended by representatives of airlines, trade and travel and tourism sectors.
The event was held in a bid to attract more airlines and passengers to Thiruvananthapuram airport owned by AAI.
