NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against Deputy Director, Registrar of Companies (ROC) Mumbai for allegedly seeking Rs2 crore bribe for preparing a favourable report for a company under investigation, officials said on Thursday.
Following the registration of the FIR against Deputy Director Sai Shankar Landa on Tuesday, the central agency had conducted a search operation at his premises in Mumbai and his native place in Vishakhapatnam on Wednesday, they said.
The CBI action had come on a complaint from a businessman whose company was under investigation by RoC Mumbai. It was alleged that bribe of Rs2crore was made for preparing a favourable report in the ongoing investigation his company at ROC Mumbai, the FIR said.
Zomato share hits record high
NEW DELHI: Shares of online food delivery platform Zomato Ltd surged over 4 per cent to hit the record high level on Thursday. The stock jumped 4.49 per cent to settle at Rs 283.90 on the BSE. During the day, it soared 5.24 per cent to hit a record high of Rs 285.95. At the NSE, it surged 4.25 per cent to Rs 283.30.
Gold drops Rs250; Silver surges
NEW DELHI: Gold prices declined Rs 250 to Rs 74,350 per 10 grams in the national capital on Thursday, while silver rates surged to reclaim the 87,000 level, according to All India Sarafa Association. On Wednesday, the precious metal or pure gold (99.9 per cent purity) ended at Rs 74,600 per 10 grams. However, silver price rallied Rs2,000 to touch a two-week high of Rs 87,000 per kilogram on Thursday.
