MUMBAI: Even as the COVID-19 continues to keep the industrial activities under suspended animation, the Heavy Civil Infrastructure Business of L&T Construction has started mobilising resources and is all set to execute a ‘significant’ hydro-electric project in the state of Assam for Assam Power Generation Corporation Ltd.
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is an Indian multinational with operations across more than 30 countries worldwide and engaged in technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing and financial services with over $21 billion in revenue. For L&T, a significant project means one that is valued between Rs1000 cr to Rs2500 crore.
A statement from the company said the project involves engineering, procurement, construction (EPC) and commissioning of project infrastructure, civil and hydro-mechanical works.
The scope involves construction of all components of 120MW Lower Kopili Hydro-electric Project viz Roads, 65 metre high concrete gravity dam, power intakes, surface powerhouse and a 3.6 km long head race tunnel.
