Owners of 55,200 shares fail to claim dividends for since 2012-13
KOCHI: Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) has served the final deadline of October 15, 2020 through a statement to the shareholders, who have not claimed dividend for the past consecutive seven years.
A statement issued by CIAL has informed that there are 51 shareholders holding 55,200 CIAL shares who have not claimed their due dividends for the past consecutive seven years right from 2012-13.
The dividend claim for these shareholders for the just concluded 2019-20 alone would amount to about Rs1.5 lakh.
The statement issued by the company secretary, Saji K George, has said that these shares will be transferred to Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority (IEPF), Government of India, unless the shareholders contact the CIAL authorities on or before October 15.
“All shares in respect of which dividend has not been claimed during the past seven consecutive years shall be transferred to IEPF Authority, Ministry of Corporate affairs, Government of India,” the statement said.
These shareholders have been requested to claim the unclaimed dividends by sending a letter to the Company Secretary Cochin 682031 or by sending an email to [email protected] in order to avoid such a situation.
“In case no valid claim is made within the due date, your shares will be transferred to IEPF Authority, Government of India without any further notice. No claim shall lie against the company in respect of unclaimed dividend amount and the shares transferred to the IEPF Authority pursuant to the Rules,” the statement further said.
