DUBAI: Kerala-based Ascent ENT Hospital Group is expanding operations to the Gulf by first opening Ascent ENT Specialty Centre in Dubai and later in all emirates of the UAE, according to Dr PK Sarafudeen, founder Chairman and Managing Director of the group.
Ascent ENT Specialty Centre was inaugurated on November 21, 2024 at Bur Dubai by Dr Mohammed Saeed Al Kindi, UAE’s former minister of environment and water.
The Dubai centre specialises in tinnitus, vertigo, audiology, and speech therapy.
“There is felt need for specialty treatment for hearing impairment and other related ailments of the ear at affordable cost in the UAE. We are planning to open specialty centres in all emirates of the UAE as we aim to offer UAE residents the high-quality ENT care available in Kerala,” he said.
For expansion in the Gulf, the Group has collaborated with the Dubai-based AAK Group of Companies.
To mark the inauguration in Dubai, the Centre is offering free comprehensive ENT screenings to the first 100 registrants. These screenings will be available for a month and include assessments for tinnitus, sleep apnea, sinus issues, allergies, hearing loss, vertigo, and speech problems.
“Additionally, one expatriate screened at the centre will receive a free cochlear implant surgery at Ascent’s hospital in Kerala. This is a costly procedure, provided at no charge. Moreover, 10 individuals selected from those with hearing loss will be provided with free hearing aids during this period,” Dr Sarafudeen.told businessbenchmark.news in Dubai
Expansion in Kerala
Ascent ENT Hospital was established in 2014 in Perinthalmanna, Kerala, and later expanded to Palakkad and Kozhikode.
“We have embarked on a major expansion within Kerala also. The next hospital will be coming up in Thrissur shortly and later in other cities in Kerala. We offer our services in complex and advanced surgeries in ENT,” he said.
The group aims to provide comprehensive and advanced treatments, including surgeries for disorders related to ENT and head-neck, accessible to everyone.
Dr Sarafudeen, an empanelled surgeon for the Kerala government’s Cochlear Implantation Program for children born with hearing loss, has successfully completed over 700 cochlear implant surgeries.
