MUMBAI: Eco Hotels and Resorts Ltd represents a burgeoning force in the Indian hospitality sector, as it aspires to achieve profitability by the end of the next fiscal year.

With the recent acquisition of three properties, totaling approximately 178 keys, the company is poised to make significant strides in developing eco-friendly accommodations characterized by a zero carbon footprint.

The strategic focus not only addresses the pressing demand for sustainable tourism but also positions Eco Hotels as a torchbearer for responsible hospitality practices in the region.

In its inaugural year of operations in India, Eco Hotels is already setting new benchmarks in sustainable hospitality.

According to Chief Financial Officer Vikram Doshi, the company is resolute in its commitment to profitability by March 2026, aspiring to establish itself as one of India’s leading hotel chains. The recent acquisitions—comprising a 90-room establishment in Mysore, a 44-room hotel in Tirupati, and another 44-room property in Nagpur—are pivotal in this endeavour.

These locations underscore the company’s strategic positioning across diverse regions, thereby enhancing its market presence.

Robust expansion plan

The company adopts an asset-light model that emphasises long-term leases, enabling it to expand its portfolio without the burdens of property ownership. By the end of October, Eco Hotels anticipates reaching a room capacity of over 400, with ongoing negotiations for additional properties in Shirdi, Jodhpur, and Nagpur.

The robust expansion plan highlights Eco Hotels’ ambition to emerge as a pan-India player in the hospitality industry, having already established a footprint across multiple states including Rajasthan, Kerala, Gujarat, and Andhra Pradesh.

Looking ahead, Eco Hotels and Resorts Ltd is targeting approximately 5,000 hotel rooms over the next five years. This vision aligns with a growing trend towards sustainable tourism, reflecting broader societal shifts towards ecological responsibility
