Defence Acquisition Council gives nod for Rs1.45tr proposals

99% of procurement cost will come from indigenous sources

NEW DELHI: The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC), chaired by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, has approved 10 capital acquisition proposals totaling Rs1.45 lakh crore to bolster India’s defence capabilities.

Notably, 99 per cent of the procurement cost will come from indigenous sources under the Buy (Indian) and Buy (Indian-Indigenously Designed Developed and Manufactured) categories.

Among the key approvals is the procurement of Future Ready Combat Vehicles (FRCVs) for the Indian Army, which will feature advanced mobility, protection, precision firepower, and real-time situational awareness.
