Mumbai: Auto major Mahindra & Mahindra total sales zoomed to 71,682 vehicles in May, marking a 17 per cent rise over the corresponding period last year, inclusive of exports.
In the utility vehicles segment, Mahindra posted a 13 per cent jump in domestic sales, totaling 43,218 vehicles.
Overall sales, including exports, amounted to 44,283 units. Concurrently, domestic sales of commercial vehicles reached 19,826 units.
Passenger vehicle sales zoomed 31 per cent to 43,218 units in May, compared to 32,886 units a year back.
Three-wheeler sales put up a modest 2 per cent growth, climbing to 5,967 units from 5,851 units recorded in May 2023.
Exports too inched up 2 per cent, with 2,671 units shipped in May 2024 as against 2,616 units in the previous corresponding period.
Additionally, Mahindra reported a substantial 17.5 per cent increase in total domestic PV (passenger vehicle) sales, reaching 69,099 units compared to 58,799 units year-on-year.
Total tractor sales accelerated 9 per cent, with 37,109 units sold as opposed to 34,126 units a year back.
