Indices down, BPCL among top gainers, Tata Steel worst loser

Sensex was trading 0.50% or 370 points lower at 74,132.19 intra-day

Mumbai: Benchmark indices Sensex, Nifty are continue their southward trajectory on Tursday, the fifth day in running on uncertanity surrounding the Lok Sabha polls outcome which is to be announced on June 4 

BSE Sensex was trading 0.50 per cent or 370 points lower at 74,132.19 levels’ intra-day, while NSE Nifty50 was down 0.52 per cent or 118 points lower at 22,596.05 levels.

On the BSE, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank were the top gainers while JSW Steel and Tata Steel were among the major laggards.

Similarly, on the NSE, IndusInd Bank, BPCL were the top gainers while Tata Steel and JSW Steel were among the top losers.

Broader markets continued to remain under pressure as Nifty Midcap slipped 0.65 per cent while SmallCap dropped 0.88 per cent.

Sectorally, the Nifty Bank led with 0.50 per cent gains. Metal, on the other hand, lost the most (down 1.90 per cent).
